Receiving Library Notices
The Wichita Public Library uses text messages, email and automated phone calls to notify customers that items requested are available for pick up, items are overdue or fees have accrued on an account. Customers who choose to receive notices by text and/or email may also be alerted of items coming due soon.
To add, edit or confirm your notification settings, go to the Patron Account tab, and select the "Contact Information and Preferences" button. (Need more help? See this FAQ or ask our staff.) Library staff can also assist you.
Notices By Text Message
Get text message notices on your cell phone! To add, change or confirm the mobile phone on your account, log in to the Library Catalog and select the "Contact Information and Preferences" button. A mobile phone carrier must be provided to receive text messages. Text message customers receive a pre-overdue text several days before any item is due.
If you wish to receive text messages in addition to email or phone notices, please contact a staff member on your next Wichita Public Library visit for assistance.
Notices By Email
Are you set up to receive notices from your library by email? To add, change or confirm your email address on your account, log in to the Library Catalog, go to the Patron Account tab, and select the "Contact Information and Preferences" button. Email customers receive a pre-overdue email several days before any item is due.
To reduce potential problems with receiving your email notices, take these steps.
- Look for any Library notices in your spam folder.
- Add notices@wichita.lib.ks.us to your address book.
- Monitor your Library account regularly.
- Notify staff immediately if you are having problems.
Notices By Phone
The Library's automated telephone system can notify you by phone. To add, change or confirm the phone number on your account, log in to the Library Catalog, go to the Patron Account tab, and select the "Contact Information and Preferences" button. Phone customers do not receive courtesy pre-overdue notices.
