The Wichita Public Library’s annual tax form distribution program runs through April 17, 2012. Federal forms will be put out as they become available. See below for a list of forms currently available.

Currently available at the Central Library (as of Tuesday, Jan. 31):

All forms and instructions listed above are available in the Business and Technology section (2nd Floor) of the Central Library. Branches will also have some forms. If you're needing a particular form, please call the branch for specifics.

The Library will not receive any Kansas or Homestead booklets.  Residents can call KDOR at 785-296-4937 to request one Kansas income tax form be sent to their address.  Residents can go to https://www.kansas.gov/webfile for free and safe online filing for Kansas Individual Income Tax Returns.

The more obscure forms can be downloaded and printed at www.irs.gov. (These may be printed from Library computers at a cost of 10 cents a page.) 

Help
Library staff is unable to answer tax questions or give tax advice: the Library can provide forms only. There is a local IRS location in Wichita at 271 W. 3rd. They are open until 4 p.m. and the phone number is 352-7401. They can answer tax questions. 

There is no local Kansas Department of Revenue tax office in Wichita.  They can only be reached in Topeka at 785-368-8222 or http://www.ksrevenue.org.  They can answer tax questions. 

For help with e-filing (electronic tax filing), citizens will be able to call the United Way at 2-1-1 to set up appointments after Jan. 17, 2012. Some restrictions may apply. 

All Library locations offer public computer workstations and wireless computer access.
